One day
I woke up
I was up at 6:30
And I wasn’t even tired
My breakfast was delicious
For some reason (as usual)
And I got to school at 8:30
Sharp
School was nice
Pizza for lunch
No science
No math
No writing
No reading
No nothing
Except for recess and lunch (duh)
It was a perfect day
Until I came home
Until my dad told me
I was switching to another state
Until a little voice said
You’re leaving your friends
Your teachers
Your favorite pizza
Forever
I was so cross I started screaming
And screaming and screaming
And screaming and screaming
Until my dad yelled over my screams:
“Not until you’re done with school!”
